It really didn’t come as a surprise to anyone that control of the Senate changed hands on Tuesday, although what did surprise a lot of observers is exactly how much of a shift it seemed to reflect.

You see, the Democratic Party lost its seats in the Northeast given the fact that it’s a region that has been favorable to the party over the recent years.

Will Mitch McConnell of the Republican Party turn U.S. around? Mitch McConnell is telling President Barack Obama that he will turn U.S. around. But these are the words presidential candidates have always said. According to Mitch McConnell, the democrats were too busy focusing on things they shouldn’t be doing at all.

From the midterm elections results, it’s clear that the American people are now putting their trust in the Republican Party. They have sunk the Democratic Party.

Voters (at least those who bothered to show up–in most races, turnout was disappointingly low) seemed dissatisfied with the direction of the country, despite overwhelmingly positive economic indicators.

What came to your mind first when you heard news about the president of Burkina Faso attempt to amend the constitution, to serve another term after 27 years in power?

Some of the African nations have had great presidents or how else Africa was going to be great without such leaders.

Just to mention a few, the greatest presidents African nations have ever had include Mobutu Sese Seko Kuku Ngbendu Wa Za Banga of DRC and Idi Amin Dada of Uganda who declared his title as “his Excellency President for Life, Field Marshal Alhaji Dr. Idi Amin Dada, VC, DSO, MC, CBE.” In this case, CBE stands for “Conqueror of the British Empire.”

There is also Robert Gabriel Mugabe of Zimbabwe, but he  is yet to graduate as one of the greatest presidents that Africa has ever had. His Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences is just around the corner!

But let me mention a fact that Mobutu Sese Seko Kuku Ngbendu Wa Za Banga had wanted to be the president forever. He was a man with great potential.

Being a man with great potential and such an intellectual, he felt like there was no any other person who will rule Zaire in the greatest way like he did.

He got himself drunk so much with power. Without giving a thought to Zaire’s constitution, he demanded that all Congolese people drop their European names and in place of them for African names. That is how he also became to be known as Mobutu Sese Seko Kuku Ngbendu Wa Za Banga instead of Joseph-Désiré Mobutu.

And the leopard-skin toque Mobutu Sese Seko used to wear most of the time was symbolic. I won’t fail to mention how Zaire’s Media in 1975 was not allowed to mention any name of a person apart from that of Mobutu.

Cream Bassist and Vocalist Jack Bruce: The Legendary Rock Musician

 

On 25 October 2014, fans of the legendary rock bassist and singer Jack Bruce faced the heartbreaking announcement of his death that was posted on his official website. Jack Bruce died at age 71 in his home in Suffolk. Did you know him?

Although Amanda Bynes wishes to maintain her privacy but this hasn’t been so, she is making headlines that are trending now on Yahoo!, Google, Twitter and news channels. But, for what reasons this time around?

First, her parents reported that she was missing. She was seen later on making her way through John F. Kennedy International Airport wearing a large bandage on her face.

It’s on 28th September 2014 that Amanda Bynes was arrested in Los Angeles for driving under the influence of drugs (DUI). She was then taken to custody and charged for driving under the influence of drugs (influence of  controlled substance). This is not the first time she is being arrested for the same offence.

So, there are many previous trending topics about Amanda Bynes, some of which you might have not read. For instance, during April 2012 she was arrested for UDI and the month before that she had been arrested for talking on her cell phone while driving.

She had not completed her three years probation for driving reckless when she got arrested on 28th September 2014.

How Domestic Violence of NFL Players Are Being Handled

The recent news about the suspension of NFL players and the NFL domestic violence has left fans with mixed emotions. It has been difficult for them to accept the domestic violence committed by some of the players.

After all, fans and the general public expect NFL players to be role models and not domestic abusers.

There is need for some sort of interventions before the worst happens…sponsors withdrawing their sponsorship for some of the NFL players and teams.

Obviously, corporate sponsors of NFL players and teams are waiting to see a lot of changes being done.

For now, domestic violence of NFL players is the off-field NFL crime.

Adrian Peterson is one of the NFL players (Minnesota Vikings), he has been indicted on charges related to beating his 4 year old son with a switch. The beating resulted in some very serious looking welts which were made public this week.

By this point, that isn’t breaking news….

But according to a report from Houston TV station KHOU, allegations that Peterson has beaten another of his children (also four years old). KHOU reported that the mother of the child filed a report with Child Protective Services over the incident.

From the reports that are trending now on the media and internet, it isn’t known what Peterson used to administer the beating, but whatever it was, it left a scar on the four year old’s face.

Charges were not filed in connection with the allegations and what, if any, conclusion Child Protective Services reached have not been made available to the public.

Peterson’s attorney issued a statement denying any inappropriate behavior, but in the face of these two allegations of child abuse, the Vikings have decided to pull him from Sunday’s matchup with the New Orleans Saints.

Jonathan Avery Dwyer (Arizona Cardinals backup running back) was arrested on 17th September 2014 for domestic violence. He was later on released.

Yes or No? That was the question asked to Scots or Scottish people during the Scottish independence referendum. It’s more than just a question in fact, because on Thursday the 18th of September, the people of Scotland voted on whether or not to secede from the United Kingdom, and form their own independent nation for the first time in over 300 years.
