On 25 October 2014, fans of the legendary rock bassist and singer Jack Bruce faced the heartbreaking announcement of his death that was posted on his official website. Jack Bruce died at age 71 in his home in Suffolk. Did you know him?

It’s possible that you don’t know him by name, but if you’ve ever listened to the radio, it’s impossible that you don’t know his work – the opening riff to “Sunshine of Your Love” is one of the most trending and instantly recognizable of all time, right up there with the Rolling Stones’ “Satisfaction” or Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man.”

Cream (rock band) was formed in 1966 by John Symon Asher Bruce, drummer Ginger Baker and guitarist Eric Clapton. However, some of the Cream band members were struggling with drug addictions that saw them part ways in 1968.

Frozen River Actress Misty Upham: Facts You Need to Know About Misty

In a tragic loss for fans, the family of Misty Upham confirmed the death of the actress last week. Ms. Upham had been missing since October 5th; her remains were discovered near the White River in the woods of Auburn, Washington by family and friends, who had been searching the area ever since she went missing.

Family members have said that they knew immediately that something was wrong when Misty Upham disappeared on October 5th, calling it uncharacteristic for the actress not to get in touch. The family reported that they contacted the police about her disappearance repeatedly, to no avail.

Tracy Rector, a Seattle filmmaker and friend of Upham’s, said “The family wants everyone to know that the Auburn police did not help with this situation at all. They refused to help. When she disappeared on Oct. 5, the family knew something was seriously wrong—it was out of character for her to be gone so long without being in touch—and they repeatedly went to the police, who insisted there was no cause for concern.”

One thing that viewers may have noticed is that Silverman’s monologue was decidedly on the long side – for those keeping track, it was actually among the longest monologues ever to appear on the program.

It’s not untypical for SNL to give stand up comics a little more time to work some of their own material into this segment (as SNL did when Louis CK hosted recently), but some may have found the monologue to stretch a little longer than necessary, especially given the somewhat awkward transitions from Silverman’s racier standup material to the tamer interactions with the 90s footage of herself.
