Ebola in Africa: Why You Should Stop Panicking About Ebola Disease


There is an outbreak of Ebola hemorrhagic fever underway in the West African countries of Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea (Nigeria had a few cases earlier, but managed to quickly contain the Ebola disease, essentially ending the outbreak in that country).

According to outbreak of Ebola disease history, it was first identified as from 1976. In 2014 alone, Ebola disease has killed more than 4550 people in West Africa. Guinea Liberia and Sierra Leone are the most affected.

While the outbreak of Ebola disease in Nigeria was reported, the World Health Organization has said that Nigeria has been declared free of the Ebola disease officially.

The ongoing 2014 outbreak of Ebola disease in West Africa is the largest compared to other outbreak of the disease that have occurred in the past.
